Vitamins K2 and D3: Your Secret Ingredients to Improving Health

Have you ever had a tingling or numbing sensation on the bottom of your feet? Does your body hurt before you get out of bed in the morning? Do you sometimes have trouble concentrating because you haven't slept well? Are you craving to boost your energy, increase brain function, and possibly prevent heart disease and cancer? If you answered yes to all these questions, the newest Warrior Strong Wellness food supplement might do you wonders.

We have recently updated our product offers to include Vitamins K2 and D3. If you're unfamiliar with the two, you might find our guide helpful in understanding how they work and what benefits they provide to the body.

A Brief Background on Vitamins K2 and D3

You may have heard of Vitamins K1 and D3, but what about vitamin K2? Many health professionals have labeled Vitamin K2 as the forgotten vitamin because it is not as well-known as others. But, studies found that it plays an essential role in bone health and preventing age-related conditions such as cancer, heart disease, and diabetes.

On the other hand, vitamin D3 is produced in the skin when exposed to sunlight. Unfortunately, most people don't get enough sunshine throughout the year for this process to occur naturally. Therefore, we obtain vitamin D from foods like eggs or fish (such as salmon) or take supplements containing it.

You may be surprised to learn that Vitamin K2's discovery was first made in 1933, but it took another 70 years before researchers realized its role in improving health and amplifying the effects of Vitamin D3.

As you might already know, Vitamin D3 was an accidental discovery in 1922 as researchers were looking into nutritional rickets (a disease caused by insufficient calcium intake) and the effect of sunlight on calcium absorption. It was not until 1930 that scientists successfully isolated vitamin D from cod liver oil, leading to its widespread use as an antirachitic agent (rickets cure) for children.

In the early 2000s, physicians began recommending supplementation with high amounts—4-5 times higher than previously recommended—to help prevent cardiovascular disease (CVD).

Vitamin K2 and D3 for Better Health

You may not have heard of Vitamin K2 or D3, but it's important to note that these two vitamins play a crucial part in your overall health. Vitamin D is essential for strong bones and muscles, while vitamin K is essential for blood clotting and bone formation.

When vitamins D3 and K2 work together synergistically, they help different body parts to make your bones, heart, immune system, and teeth healthy. Your body needs both of these vitamins for better results. In fact, research has shown that the intake of either supplement helps boost the other.

Therefore, if you take Vitamin D3 supplements without taking Vitamin K2, it may not be as effective for you. Combining these two essential nutrients is ideal for supporting your overall health!

Vitamins K2 and D3 Deficiency

If you don't get enough of these two vitamins, you might experience a few problems. If you have Vitamin K2 deficiency, you might experience blood clotting-related issues such as bruising and excessive bleeding. Additionally, a lack of Vitamin K2 leaves you at a high risk of developing osteoporosis because of its active role in bone mineralization. This compromises your bones and increases your susceptibility to fractures and debilitating injuries.

On the one hand, Vitamin D3 deficiency isn't as severe as a K2 deficiency. (you'll probably have soft bones), but it still has serious consequences. Low vitamin D3 can lead to muscle weakness, soft bones (a condition called rickets), low testosterone levels in men, and PMS symptoms in women (which might explain why women are so much better at dealing with the pain of broken bones than men).

Vitamin D3 or K2 Overdose

There is a possibility of overdosing on Vitamin D3 or K2; however, it is not very likely. The recommended daily allowances for each are as follows:

  • Vitamin D3 (Calcium) 4000 IU
  • Vitamin K2 100 mcg

Sensible brands in the health and nutrition industry consider this part of their planning to achieve their goals and that of their clients. One example of such company is Warrior Strong Wellness.
